Make it Monday- Bella Blvd & The Potato Chip Skirt

IMG_9848
Spring is NEAR! Hallelujah! Time to get to sewing up new spring clothes. The Potato Chip skirt is a new pattern by Tie Dye Diva. It comes in three options, lined, unlined and reversible. I chose to go with lined version since I used the Sunny Happy Skies white with polka dots fabric.

I used Snapshots Hearts in Orange for a fun pop of bright to line the pockets. The pattern teaches you how to add decorative piping even! I didn't go that far, but next time for sure.

With my leftover fabrics I made a matching applique shirt (pattern found HERE).

Make it Monday- Deco Doil Boot Spurs & a Tilly Top

IMG_9750
I used a tried and true favorite pattern of mine for my daughters top, you may even recognize it.  It’s theTilly by Brownie Goose and has been here a few times.  I modified it again to have an open back with sash closure.  Perfect for anytime of year and it pairs perfectly with her Lily Ruffler bottoms.

To create the spurs I followed the instructions in the design.  I used the same technique from myprevious post to apply the iCraft® Deco Foil™ to wool felt. If you look through Sevens Emporiums designs there are a few I think would be fantastic childrens party favors.  Gold Sheriffs badges come to mind!

FABRIC STYLE UPDATED2_a
Today we are switching things up, and instead of featuring projects using our paper collections, we are sharing projects created with our fabric collections!
Jen Chesnick- Backseat Organizer
Backseat Organizer, by Jen Chesnick.
When you have kids you need to be organized am I right? Or at least TRY to be. I've had several different ways of in the car organization and I have not found that just right item. Enter the car seat organizer.

I knew we needed a little bit of a check list. Can it be washed? Does it have multiple size compartment? Can my kiddo reach it and get things out easily? Is it cute? LOL. I found this seat caddy on pinterest and I decided it would work great (tutorial found HERE).

I didn't follow the breakdown of pocket sizes, I made my own. I also used Kam Snaps and fabric for the headrest ties. I omitted the rings as I didn't need them.

Be sure to use extra firm interfacing to keep the pockets holding up. You could even add elastic to the bias binding instead of pleats.
