Farewell American Crafts (photo heavy)

Well folks after 3 years with American Crafts my term is ending.  I will have just a couple more projects next month to share and then that is that.  It's kind of surreal and weird not to be returning to AC for another term.  When you are with a company so long you forget what it's like to not be there.  If that makes sense.  So I thought I would share my favorite projects from the past 3 years.  Thanks for following me over on the AC blog!

I had to dig deep for some of these!  Man I think the original Dear Lizzy line is still my favorite of all time.  Thanks again!

Welcome Friends + A Silhouette Vinyl Project

TGIF Folks!  Today I have a super quick and fun project for you!  It's no secret that I like vinyl.  You can see that HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.  So this past Spring I decided to paint my front doors. Red & Grey where my choices.  Our storm door is pretty beat up and old.  What stinks is because we live in a row house everything is not standard sizes.  So to replace our door is going to cost, a freaking lot.  So I have been trying my best to just jazz stuff up as best I can until we can replace!  

The red was a big hit with me! Maybe not my husband, but what does that matter? Anyhow I thought it needed something else, so I got out my Silhouette Vinyl and used the Welcome Friends & Family file in the Silhouette shop and cut!  That simple.  Took me all of 10 minutes and mama was happy!

Everyone notices my door now.  The UPS guy said I need to add Welcome friends, family and amazon deliveries.  Yes he is a comedian folks!  I'd love to see your vinyl projects!  Have any to share?

Project Life Pages + Simple Stories

Hi y'all two posts in one day what crazy talk.  Here are some more project life pages I completed last week.  I've been in a MAJOR purge/use phase.  I've really been trying to use items I have had in my stash and get it gone.  So I found I had this kit by Simple Stories.  It was laying in a pile (hangs head in shame) so I used it up!

So I feel like I am starting to get the hang of documenting stuff this way.  I can't decided on a page layout so far. The ones with the strip down the side...I am not a fan. It keeps falling out.  I tried using washi to hold it in and it still falls out.  I am like OMG.  So once I've used up what I have I won't be using those again!  I also found a snap binder in my stash.  I am so ridiculous.  Maybe I will tackle that next.  I was thinking I need to write down a list of things I need to use and start posting them here.  As inspiration/challenges to you.  What ya think?  Wanna play along with me?

Laina Lamb Designs

When Laina contacted me to try out her stamps and dies I totally jumped on board and I am so glad I did.  I dove right in and pulled out three layouts.  I couldn't help myself!  I had to dust off my die-cutting machine for this one.  It had been a long time and I forgot how much I like dies. They are super crisp and cut through lots of materials.  

I'm so lucky you're mine.  

Supplies: LL Speech Bubble Frame, LL Bingo Stamp Set

So talk about cutting through materials.  I used My Minds Eye paper and Websters Overlays.  The overlay was nothing for these dies!  

I went ahead and used her stamp set to stamp right into my wood embellishment.  No big title for this layout and I love it.

Birthday Girl

Supplies Used: LL Bingo Stamp Set, LL Playlist Stamp Set, LL Story Titles- Accent It Dies

I can't tell you if I have ever used more then one stamp on a layout.  For this one I used two which is pretty impressive in my book.  I also used her word dies.  What's nice is the word is cut onto a strip to no messing with your letters being straight or in a million pieces!  I used October Afternoons, Midway for this birthday layout of Parker and her cake smash.

I love how crisp her stamps are. I am not an avid stamper, so when I like a stamp I like a stamp!

Supplies Used:  LL Playlist Stamp Set, LL Cassette Tape Die, LL 3x4 Notepad Die, 

So back to cutting materials!  I had some wood veneer in my stash so I decided to go ahead and run it through with the notepad die.  ahhhmazing!  Bonus?  This die and the speech bubble fit into Project Life 3x4 slots.  Saaweeeettt!!!  I really wish I had a neon line to go with the cassette die.  It's screaming for an all 80's throw back layout.  My only regret with this layout it the title.  After I photographed I realized how poorly it showed up.  You can't win them all I guess. I used more Websters Pages here with a side of Freckled Fawn wood accents.

my kids crazy hair

I was going through photos of Parker and I came across a set that I really like of her.  I had gotten a new light set up and had it on in the living room.  She was all about it that day.  It was just after the holidays so she was about 7 months I think.

So the thing I noticed was her hair.  People keep asking if her hair is lighter and I am all yeah sure.  Looking back I guess I didn't realize just how dark her hair was.  She never lost her baby hair she was born with and this kid has for real had 8 or 9 hair cuts.  It's totally ridiculous. 

Her eyes have lightened up some compared to here however they are still an odd color.  I keep thinking she is going to wake up one day with brown eyes.  They are still blueish but dark and some days I swear they look more hazel.  My pedi said they will stay the same after one year other places I have read that's not true.  What's your experience?
